Steve Schofield is an award winning photographer whose work has appeared in many of the world's leading publications and exhibited widely in Europe including The National Portrait Gallery London, Les Recontres D'Arles in France, The Photographers Gallery In London and Getxophoto in Spain. In 2007 he was selected by the Times Magazine as one of five new artists to watch.
Since then, Steve has worked on numerous advertising, magazine, TV and movie poster projects.
A number of his portraits have been acquired for the National Portrait Gallery's permanent Collection in London.
Steve was born in England and spent his early career in London after studying at the London College of Communication (formerly the London College of Printing) and the University of Derby. On graduating, he was selected for the inaugural 'Fresh Faced and Wild Eyed' exhibition at The Photographer's Gallery in London. That same year he had his personal projects featured in Creative Review and The New York Times. Steve went on to work on his approach to making documentary portraits and developed a style that gained attention quickly. A mix of subtle humor and an approach of engaging and collaborating with his subjects allowing them to 'act out' has led to Steve winning numerous awards and having his work published by some of the most prestigious magazines in the world. Living in London, he works internationally, having being previously based in Los Angeles, New York for a number of years.
