About
Steve Schofield is an award winning British photographer. He has been published by some of the world’s most prestigious magazines, commissioned to shoot worldwide advertising campaigns for film, TV and brands, and has exhibited in galleries across the world.
On graduating university, he was selected for the inaugural 'Fresh Faced and Wild Eyed' exhibition at The Photographer's Gallery in London and was selected by the Times Magazine as one of five new artists to watch in 2007. That same year he had his personal projects featured in Creative Review and The New York Times, and he was selected for exhibition with his ‘Land of The Free’ project at the world renowned Les Recontres d’Arles festival.
A mix of subtle humour and an approach of engaging and collaborating with his subjects allowing them to 'act out' under subtle direction has led to Steve winning numerous awards for his work. This initial approach of encouraging his subjects to ‘act out’ early in his career, combined with his love of cinema, eventually led to him working with actors and producing images (still and moving) for film and TV posters.
Commercially, Steve has worked all over the world and has photographed some of the worlds biggest stars of film, television, music and sport.
